Islamabad( The COW News Digital)Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived in Islamabad on an official visit aimed at bolstering bilateral ties between Türkiye and Pakistan. His visit reflects the deep-rooted and strategic relationship shared between the two brotherly nations, with a focus on enhancing cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and defense fronts.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Fidan was warmly received at the airport by Additional Foreign Secretary Syed Ali Gillani. The ministry stated that the visit will encompass discussions on all key issues of mutual interest, including regional security, economic collaboration, and strategic partnership initiatives.

In a parallel development, Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense, Yasar Guler, also landed in Islamabad as part of a high-level Turkish delegation. Guler’s arrival signifies the importance Türkiye places on defense and security cooperation with Pakistan. He too was welcomed by Syed Ali Gillani upon arrival.

As per the official statement, the Turkish Defense Minister is scheduled to hold formal talks with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, focusing on defense partnerships, joint military training, and regional counterterrorism efforts.

Moreover, Yasar Guler is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a one-on-one session to discuss strengthening security collaboration and boosting joint defense production capacities. The visit also includes expected meetings with other senior civilian and military officials.

Observers view this dual ministerial visit as a symbolic and strategic moment in Pakistan-Türkiye relations. With both foreign and defense ministers arriving simultaneously, it underscores a renewed commitment to expanding ties in areas beyond traditional diplomacy—including trade, defense technology, regional peace, and economic integration.

The high-level talks come at a time when both countries face evolving geopolitical challenges in their respective regions. Mutual interests in regional stability, counterterrorism, and economic development are expected to shape the dialogue.

The Turkish delegation is also expected to participate in policy forums, strategic consultations, and joint press engagements during their stay. Their visit is part of ongoing efforts by both sides to elevate bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

This visit is seen as a precursor to upcoming leadership-level exchanges and may pave the way for new agreements in trade, tourism, and defense cooperation.
