The International Cricket Council (ICC) has put to rest speculation surrounding the Champions Trophy 2025, confirming that the tournament will be held in Pakistan as scheduled. ICC CEO Geoff Allardice has assured that Pakistan will host the prestigious event from February to March 2025, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

Allardice’s confirmation comes after Indian media outlets reported that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had proposed alternative venues, such as Dubai and Sri Lanka, for India’s matches due to concerns about traveling to Pakistan. However, the ICC CEO has refuted these claims, stating that no teams have expressed hesitation about participating in the tournament.

During a media briefing in Dubai for the Women’s T20 World Cup, Allardice expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s preparations for the Champions Trophy. He highlighted the ICC’s confidence in Pakistan’s ability to host a successful tournament, citing the country’s experience in hosting international cricket events.

Pakistan is currently upgrading three stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi to ensure they meet international standards for the Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has assured that the renovations will be completed before the tournament begins.

The confirmation from the ICC CEO has brought relief to Pakistani cricket fans, who were anxious about the possibility of the tournament being relocated. With the Champions Trophy 2025 set to take place in Pakistan, the country is gearing up to showcase its hospitality and passion for cricket to the world.
