Zartaj Gul, Parliamentary Leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council, launched a scathing attack on the current government, accusing them of fleeing to London during times of crisis while labeling them as “thieves of votes, treasury, and now even graves and shrouds.”

In a fiery speech in the assembly, Zartaj Gul presented the names of 12 martyrs, ensuring they are recorded as part of the parliamentary record. “I challenge anyone to contest these names. The world witnessed the funerals of our martyrs. These bodies, instead of being honored, were falsely declared as victims of accidents, and their families were intimidated,” she said.

Gul criticized the government for hiding behind the events of May 9, stating, “Stop using May 9 as a shield. You have disappeared bodies and detainees. Investigate what happened on May 9 and November 26.”

Despite significant losses, she claimed, their leadership remained committed to peace. “Even after so many lives were lost, our leader announced another chance for peace, but this government fled from the idea of dialogue,” Gul added.

Referring to a recent rally in Peshawar, she said, “The world witnessed again how many people took to the streets at the call of our leader. Despite cutting electricity for 12 hours and trying to suppress us, you could not break our resolve. If our leader calls again, the people will come out once more.”

Zartaj Gul concluded her address by demanding the release of all detained and missing individuals, underscoring the importance of justice and accountability.
