Lahore – Prominent TikToker and YouTuber Rajab Ali Butt has apologized to religious scholars following accusations of disrespecting prayer in one of his videos.

Rajab, who recently faced legal trouble after receiving a lion cub as a wedding gift, was criticized for allegedly mocking an important Islamic practice, leading to widespread backlash on social media.

On Thursday night, Rajab Butt met with scholars from various Islamic sects, including Allama Makhdum Asim, Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Allama Ashraf Rabbani, and Allama Muhammad Ishtiaq Ashrafi, among others.

During the meeting, the YouTuber presented his stance and sought forgiveness. A video of his apology in the presence of the scholars was shared on social media.

Clarifying the situation, Rajab stated, “Over the past few days, I have been criticized for allegedly disrespecting prayer in one of my videos. I cannot even imagine such an act. I requested time from scholars to explain my position, as there was no intention of disrespect in my actions.”

He further expressed regret for any unintentional hurt caused to Muslims through his words or actions, adding, “I seek forgiveness from Allah and the scholars. Prayer is a shield against all calamities, and my apology is not to please any person but to seek Allah’s approval.”

The apology has garnered mixed reactions on social media, with some appreciating his accountability and others calling for greater care in content creation.
