Former Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan has emphasized the importance of Fakhar Zaman in the national team, stating that with Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub opening the innings, Pakistan could easily score 400 runs in an ODI.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Younis Khan noted that both Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are in good form, and they should not be played at lower batting positions. He stressed the importance of supporting players who play for the team, adding that with these two players opening, Pakistan could potentially score 250 runs in a T20 match as well.
Younis Khan also praised the Pakistan Cricket Board’s stance on the Champions Trophy, calling it a positive development for Pakistan. He acknowledged the benefits of playing against higher-ranked teams, noting that playing at home grounds gives the team a distinct advantage.
On the upcoming Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan, Younis Khan expressed his excitement, highlighting the importance of home-ground matches, as Pakistan had spent nine years playing cricket abroad. He also reiterated his wish for consistent India-Pakistan cricket matches, stressing that playing against India is crucial for becoming a big player in international cricket.
