A new wildfire has erupted in the forests north of Los Angeles, California, prompting authorities to issue evacuation orders for 25,000 residents.
According to reports from news agencies, flames are raging near Castaic Lake in the mountainous region, with the fire spreading rapidly due to strong winds. In just two hours, the blaze has engulfed 5,000 acres of land. Additionally, 500 inmates from nearby facilities have been relocated to other prisons for safety.
Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest are working tirelessly to contain the fire. Helicopters and small planes have also been deployed to assist in firefighting efforts.
It is worth noting that Los Angeles is already battling the aftermath of devastating wildfires. Since January 7, various parts of the region have been affected by multiple blazes, which have destroyed nearly 40,000 acres of land, caused significant destruction, and claimed the lives of at least 27 people.
Efforts to control the fires are ongoing, but the damage and threat continue to grow as emergency teams race against time.
