As President Joe Biden prepares to step down in just three days, with Donald Trump set to assume office, the process of political transition in the United States is underway. Before this transition is complete, Biden and his cabinet members are delivering farewell addresses from their respective departments.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who is regarded as one of President Biden’s trusted allies, revealed an interesting insight about the president during a farewell speech at a ceremony with the armed forces.
Austin referred to First Lady Jill Biden as Biden’s “secret weapon.” He stated, “You are the one percent who defend the other 99 percent of Americans, and you hold a special place in our hearts.”
In his address, Austin also highlighted significant achievements under Biden’s leadership, including the U.S. defense of Ukraine against Russia, brokering a ceasefire in Gaza, and securing the release of American hostages from Hamas captivity.
