Muzaffarabad: A tragic accident occurred in the Neelum Valley at Nagdar, where a vehicle carrying members of a wedding party plunged into the Neelum River, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The groom sustained severe injuries and has been transported to a nearby hospital, according to Deputy Commissioner Neelum, Nadeem Janjua.

The wedding party was traveling from Mansehra to the Jangaan area in Neelum Valley when the incident took place. The deceased are reported to be residents of Mansehra.

This unfortunate incident comes just weeks after another wedding party met a similar fate in Quetta. A bus carrying wedding attendees veered off the road near Brewery Bypass and fell into a ravine, resulting in five fatalities and 20 injuries, including women and children.

The Quetta bus reportedly lost control after a tire burst while traveling from Hazara Town to Baleli. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives in that incident, directed an investigation, and assured accountability for any negligence found.

These incidents underscore the ongoing need for stricter safety measures on Pakistan’s roads, especially in mountainous and challenging terrains.
