The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has revised its weather advisory for Karachi, indicating that the possibility of heavy rain in the port city is almost over. Instead, the city may experience light to moderate rain, with various parts of the city expected to receive rain within an hour.

The monsoon system, which brought heavy rainfall to various parts of the country, including Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has moved towards central, upper Sindh, and Balochistan. While Karachi is unlikely to experience heavy rain, other cities in Sindh, such as Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Shikarpur, Ghotki, and Sukkur, are expected to be hit with heavy rain.

The PMD forecast suggests that the system may continue to affect Sindh till the morning of August 19. Residents of Karachi are advised to expect light to moderate rain, with temperatures ranging from 27 to 31°C, wind gusts up to 15 km/h, and poor air quality.

Earlier, the PMD had predicted thundershowers in Karachi for the next 24 hours, but the revised forecast indicates a reduced likelihood of heavy rain. The pleasant weather in Punjab’s Lahore, which experienced rainfall and strong winds, is expected to continue.
