In response to the suspension of aid to Pakistan by the United States, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they are reviewing the US President’s order. He emphasized that the US and Pakistan have been working together on various programs for years across different sectors, and Pakistan remains in contact with US officials on the matter of aid.

Speaking at a weekly briefing in Islamabad, Shafqat Ali Khan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Pakistan aims to strengthen its economic relations with the United States. He also clarified that they do not wish to comment on the growing ties between the US and India but assured that Pakistan’s relationship with the US remains strong.

The spokesperson further mentioned that the suspension of US aid for 90 days applies to all countries, and various sectors in Pakistan are currently benefiting from US aid cooperation.

Regarding the visit of American businesspeople to Pakistan, the spokesperson noted that these visits were not organized through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but were a routine matter. He directed media inquiries regarding further details to the Sindh Investment and Finance Corporation (SIFC).

Additionally, the spokesperson confirmed that efforts are underway to bring back 22 Pakistanis stranded in Morocco following a tragic accident. He described the incident as highly sensitive and stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with Morocco, is working on the repatriation process.

Finally, the spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of the attack on a Saudi hospital in Sudan and Israeli aggression in the West Bank. He also announced that a bilateral political consultative meeting between Pakistan and Qatar will be held in Doha on February 5, with the Deputy Prime Minister leading the Pakistani delegatio
