Washington (News Desk) – The Biden administration has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the implementation of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024, the White House announced.

According to international news sources, the statement comes ahead of Lebanon’s parliamentary session next week to elect a new president—an event of significant importance for the country after years without a head of state.

John Kirby, spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, emphasized the importance of the election for the Lebanese people. “It is crucial for the people of Lebanon to exercise their vote and make their voices heard in choosing their future leader. This is a vital step toward expressing their aspirations for peace and achieving greater success as a nation,” Kirby stated.

The U.S. continues to engage diplomatically to support stability in the region and uphold the ceasefire agreement.
