Washington( The COW News Digital )Despite recent massive US airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran’s nuclear program has not been completely destroyed, according to an initial Pentagon intelligence report. The attacks have only delayed Iran’s nuclear activities by a few months, rather than eliminating them altogether.
According to sources cited by British news agencies, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has assessed that a significant portion of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile survived the US bombardment. The report suggests that the majority of centrifuges at Iran’s key nuclear sites remain intact, with damage limited primarily to surface-level infrastructure.
The airstrikes targeted three critical underground nuclear sites located in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The US Air Force employed so-called “bunker buster” bombs designed to penetrate up to 60 feet underground or 200 feet of soil to reach Iran’s subterranean facilities. However, most underground installations remained shielded from destruction, sustaining damage only to entry points and some supporting infrastructure.
The White House swiftly dismissed the Pentagon report, calling it misleading and accusing it of attempting to undermine the credibility of the President’s claims. The US President maintains that the strikes, carried out under his orders, have effectively neutralized Iran’s nuclear capability.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials claimed that their facilities had been emptied before the attacks, minimizing the damage to key assets. Israeli sources added that much of Iran’s enriched uranium is now buried under rubble, complicating any immediate recovery efforts.

This development reveals the challenges of completely dismantling deeply fortified underground nuclear infrastructure through air raids alone. It also highlights ongoing intelligence disputes within US agencies about the real impact of the strikes.
As tensions remain high, the international community continues to watch closely, with diplomatic and security implications hanging in the balance. The evolving situation underscores the complexity of the Iran nuclear issue, raising questions about future military or diplomatic actions.
