Hamas has denounced Israel’s decision to halt electricity supply to Gaza, calling it an act of “cheap and unacceptable blackmail” aimed at pressuring the group into releasing hostages, Al Jazeera reported.
“We strongly condemn the occupation’s decision to cut off electricity to Gaza, after depriving it of food, medicine, and water,” said Izzat al-Rishq, a senior Hamas official.
He described the move as “a desperate attempt to pressure our people and their resistance through cheap and unacceptable blackmail tactics.”
The power cut comes amid ongoing conflict in the region, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in war-torn Gaza.
