Two Suspect Arrested for Firing at Deputy Commissioner Kurram

Kurram (News Desk) – Two alleged miscreants have been arrested in connection with the recent attack on the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kurram. According to the police, the arrested individuals are named in the First Information Report (FIR), and both have been transferred to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

In a high-level meeting held in Kohat, authorities decided to file terrorism charges against those who encouraged the perpetrators of the January 4 attack. The FIR for the firing incident, which took place recently, was registered at the CTD Police Station in Kurram. The report indicates that the attack occurred at Baggan while the DC was traveling from Sadda towards Baggan. The FIR names 30 individuals, including five unidentified suspects.

The attack resulted in injuries to the DC of Kurram and three personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC). The FIR includes charges under anti-terrorism laws, among other sections.

Meanwhile, authorities in Kurram district have imposed a two-month ban under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), prohibiting gatherings of more than five people. The ban also extends to the display of weapons in public for the next two months.
