Washington (Web Desk): A U.S. judge has scheduled January 10 for the sentencing of former President Donald Trump in a case involving business information fraud. Despite the charges, Trump is unlikely to face jail time.
The judge upheld the indictment against Trump in the case related to business fraud but clarified that, as a convicted individual, he will still be the first president to serve while under criminal conviction.
Trump is expected to appeal the court’s decision.
Meanwhile, in a sharp criticism of outgoing President Joe Biden, Trump labeled him the “worst president” in American history. He particularly criticized Biden’s “open border policy,” arguing that it has made the U.S. a laughingstock internationally.
Reports suggest that Trump warned Biden’s policies would lead to an increase in both Islamic extremist terrorism and violent crime. On social media, Trump described the current national situation as “catastrophic,” accusing Biden’s leadership of weakening national security and governance.
Trump also blamed foreign interference in U.S. elections by his adversaries, stating it caused irreparable damage to the country. He further emphasized that when leadership is weak and borders are open, such consequences are inevitable. Speaking to his supporters, Trump vowed that his administration would restore the nation’s lost strength.
