Washington:In a speech at a rally in Washington ahead of his swearing-in as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump declared his intent to reverse all of Joe Biden’s executive orders on his first day in office.
Trump, who narrowly secured victory in the 2024 presidential election, also announced plans to reinstate the popular social media app TikTok, calling it his favorite, and proposed that 50% of its shares should be allocated to the U.S. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to making America “great again” by dismantling the so-called “establishment” and securing the nation’s borders.
“We’ve achieved a hard-fought victory, and we’re going to restore America’s greatness,” Trump told his supporters. “We’ll stop the border invasions, and we will move at an unprecedented pace to make historic changes.”
Trump also spoke about international policy, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza as a crucial step toward peace in the Middle East. He claimed that Iran could no longer fund Hamas due to shifting regional dynamics.
Tech mogul Elon Musk, an ally of Trump, also took the stage during the rally, further underscoring the new president’s message of change.
Reports suggest that on his first day in office, Trump will sign multiple executive orders, including those focused on immigration and other key issues. The president-elect also vowed to immediately rescind what he described as “radical and foolish” administrative actions taken by the Biden administration.
Among the proposed executive orders, Trump mentioned the launch of the largest deportation program in U.S. history, deregulation of environmental laws, and a significant increase in the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, Trump hinted at the creation of a new agency called “Dog,” aimed at advancing technological innovation and security.
Trump also pledged to initiate the construction of a massive “Iron Dome” missile defense system for the U.S. military, citing its potential to protect American interests from emerging global threats.
“You’ll enjoy watching the changes unfold on television tomorrow,” he promised, signaling his readiness to deliver on his bold agenda.
As Trump prepares to take office, his supporters and critics alike are bracing for what is expected to be a transformative first 100 days of his presidency.
