Trump cancels news conference after sending Zelensky out of White House

US President Donald Trump abruptly canceled a scheduled news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following a tense meeting at the White House.

The meeting, which also included Vice President JD Vance, reportedly turned confrontational as Trump and Vance accused Zelensky of not showing enough gratitude for US support in Ukraine’s war against Russia.

Trump repeatedly pressured Zelensky to concede, warning that Ukraine had no real leverage in the conflict. “You either make a deal, or we’re out,” he threatened. “If we’re out, you’ll be on your own, and it won’t be pretty.”

Following the exchange, Trump took to social media, stating that Zelensky was “not ready for peace” and had “disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office.” He added that the Ukrainian leader would be welcome back “when he is ready for peace.”

Zelensky later held discussions with several European leaders, who reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.

Speaking to Fox News, Zelensky downplayed the dispute, expressing hope that US-Ukraine relations could still be repaired.
