Washington(The COW News Digital)For the first time, U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, admitting that famine and hunger are sweeping through the besieged region. His remarks follow mounting global pressure and reports of 133 hunger-related deaths, including 87 children.

Speaking after a meeting with the British Prime Minister, Trump stated,

He urged Israel to allow unhindered delivery of food aid into Gaza, stressing that many lives could still be saved. Trump admitted that while Israel is responsible for managing aid shipments, the essential supplies are not reaching civilians.

In a notable shift in tone, Trump referenced ongoing ceasefire negotiations and advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reconsider his current military strategy, implying that a change in approach is essential to reduce civilian suffering.

In the same statement, Trump also revisited his previous claims of preventing global conflict, stating that without his diplomatic efforts, the world could be facing six major wars, including escalations between Pakistan and India.

Meanwhile, international organizations have painted a grim picture of Gaza’s condition. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that food insecurity has reached emergency levels. In the past 24 hours alone, 63 Palestinians have died, six of them from starvation.

The World Food Programme (WFP) also revealed that nearly 500,000 Palestinians in Gaza are now on the brink of famine, with Israeli blockades severely limiting humanitarian access. Aid agencies have described the crisis as “entirely man-made” and warned that time is running out.

Human rights advocates welcomed Trump’s acknowledgment but criticized the delay, noting that international warnings have been sounding for months.

The U.S. President’s comments may signal a policy shift, but humanitarian groups stress the urgency of immediate action to prevent a full-scale disaster.

As Gaza’s children continue to die from hunger, the world watches to see if this recognition will finally translate into relief—and accountability.
