KARACHI:( The COW News Digital) – Actress Tooba Anwar has shared that a WhatsApp group has been created by actresses in the entertainment industry to stay connected and support each other emotionally. In a recent interview, she stated that the group aims to promote mental well-being by allowing actresses to regularly check in, share thoughts, and help one another
The initiative comes after the tragic death of actress Humaira Ali, who reportedly faced severe loneliness and lacked emotional support. Tooba pointed out that many actresses work away from their families, and this group will include those living alone to ensure no one feels isolated
A Step Towards Emotional Support
Tooba said, “Many of my friends are also working away from home, and Humaira’s death deeply affected them.” The group is meant to provide a platform where everyone feels heard and cared for, especially women in the industry who might not have a support system nearby.
Sonya Hussyn Also Speaks Out
Earlier, actress Sonya shared her grief and confirmed the creation of a WhatsApp group involving not just actors, but also makeup artists, crew members, and particularly women living alone. The idea is to maintain constant communication and emotional outreach.
Senior Artists Step In
Sonya mentioned that senior actress Rubina Ashraf and actor Yasir Hussain are actively supporting this effort. The Actors Collective Trust (ACT) is also involved. However, Sonya stressed, “This is the time for all of us to take personal responsibility.”
A Call to Action for Everyone
Sonya emphasized, “Ask if someone needs food, if they’re unwell, or need to go to the hospital. If each of us checks in on just five people, maybe we can prevent such heartbreaking tragedies in the future.”
