Seventeen-year-old TikTok influencer Sana Yusuf was tragically shot dead in her Islamabad residence in a chilling incident that has sparked nationwide outrage. A formal police investigation is underway, and the victim’s body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination conducted at PIMS Hospital.
The FIR has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Farzana Yusuf. According to the statement, the brutal attack occurred around 5 PM when an unidentified man entered their home. Dressed in a black shirt and trousers and carrying a pistol, the assailant opened fire on Sana, who was in her room at the time.
Farzana Yusuf, who was present at home during the incident, recounted the horrific events with trembling voice. “My husband was not home, and my 15-year-old son was away visiting our hometown in Chitral,” she stated in the FIR. “A man I had never seen before stormed into the house and went straight to Sana’s room. Without saying a word, he fired at her with a pistol. She was struck twice in the chest.”
Farzana said she and her sister-in-law, Latifa Shah, who was visiting at the time, screamed for help, causing the intruder to flee the scene. Neighbors quickly rushed over after hearing the commotion. “We carried Sana in a neighbor’s car to the hospital,” Farzana added, “but she succumbed to her injuries before she could receive medical attention.”
The mother also mentioned that Sana was a well-known social media influencer with a rapidly growing following. “She was a confident young girl with big dreams,” Farzana said, weeping. “I don’t understand why someone would do this to her.”
Latifa Shah, a key eyewitness, confirmed Farzana’s account. Both women have stated that they can identify the killer if he appears before them. The police have acknowledged these eyewitness accounts and confirmed that the investigation is being treated with the utmost urgency.
Senior police officials, speaking to Express News, revealed that advanced forensic and surveillance methods are being employed in the investigation. “We are utilizing Safe City cameras to track the movement of the suspect and are also conducting geo-fencing of the area, specifically around Sector G-13/1, where the incident occurred,” one officer said.
The police emphasized that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the perpetrator to justice. “The suspect will not escape the law,” assured the officer. “Orders have already been issued for his immediate arrest, and multiple teams are working round the clock.”
