Lahore – Social media influencer and TikToker Rajab Butt, who recently made headlines for his extravagant wedding, has been arrested for allegedly keeping an illegal wild animal as a pet.
According to authorities, the Punjab Wildlife Department, in collaboration with local police, raided Butt’s residence in Park View, Lahore, and took him into custody. The raid followed reports that Butt had received a baby lion as a wedding gift, a violation of wildlife regulations.
Police sources confirmed that the TikToker was arrested for possessing the cub without the required license. Additionally, during a search of his home, law enforcement discovered a silver box containing a .223 bore rifle and ammunition, raising further concerns.
An FIR has been registered against Butt under the Punjab Arms Ordinance of 1965. The FIR states that the accused was harboring prohibited animals and illegal weapons, which posed a potential law and order threat.
This is not the first time Rajab Butt has made headlines. His wedding recently went viral on social media due to the extravagant display of wealth, including throwing dollar bills at guests and other opulent celebrations.
The case has sparked debate about the misuse of wealth and lax enforcement of wildlife protection laws in the region. Wildlife authorities have reiterated the importance of protecting endangered species and the illegality of keeping exotic animals as domestic pets without proper authorization.
