The service, set to commence on August 14, will operate every 10 minutes from various points in the city, including Cantt Station, Sagheer Shaheed Road, M.A. Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam Square. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Karachi by relocating intercity bus terminals outside the city.
According to Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon, the decision to shift the bus terminals was made based on recommendations from the traffic police department. The move is expected to reduce traffic pressure in the city, making commuting easier for residents.
The free shuttle service will operate under a public-private partnership model, ensuring efficient and reliable transportation for citizens. By not allowing large buses to enter the city, transporters will also benefit from reduced expenses.
This initiative is a step towards improving Karachi’s transportation infrastructure and reducing traffic congestion. The Sindh government’s efforts to address urban mobility issues will enhance the quality of life for citizens and promote economic growth.
