Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace laureate and education activist, has added another feather to her cap by venturing into the world of entertainment. Her production debut with the Apple TV+ documentary “The Last of the Sea Women” has been well-received, and she has now pledged to support Pakistan’s entertainment industry in the future.
Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Malala emphasized the importance of uplifting Pakistani films and creative talent. She believes that the themes presented in Pakistani films are “incredibly strong and meaningful,” and deserves global recognition.
Malala’s support for the entertainment industry is not limited to just films. She also encouraged everyone to support local shows and films, saying, “We can help flourish our entertainment industry by watching local shows as an audience, casting our people as actors or directors, or showing our support in any way we can.”
The entertainment industry in Pakistan has been growing steadily over the years, producing talented actors, directors, and producers. However, it still lacks the global recognition it deserves. Malala’s support can be a game-changer for the industry, providing a much-needed boost to its growth.
