According to the department, the weather will remain cold and dry in most areas of the country, with moderate to heavy fog likely in the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pothohar region, Kashmir, and some plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to experience fog.
In Karachi, the temperature is expected to drop to between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius, with dry weather and cold conditions expected at night.
Additionally, strong winds are likely to intermittently blow in Karachi today.
The department reported that the minimum temperature in Karachi over the past 24 hours was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 44%. The northeastern winds are blowing at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather will remain dry and cold, with severe cold expected in the upper districts. Fog will prevail in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, and Dera Ismail Khan, especially in the morning and evening hours.
Snowfall in various parts of the country has increased the severity of the cold, with temperatures in Karachi reaching 10 degrees Celsius. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 0°C, with a maximum of 19°C expected.
In Swat and Dir, temperatures have fallen below freezing, with Kalam and Dir recording temperatures of -4°C. Similarly, temperatures in Chitral, Malam Jabba, and Parachinar have been recorded at -2°C.
