In a statement issued on social media platform X, Khawaja Asif said that today, sentences were handed down to 25 suspects involved in the tragic events of May 9. He added that, like the U.S. and the UK, immediate justice should have been served, as the delay has only emboldened the accused and their facilitators.

The Defense Minister further stated that there was even a reluctance to condemn that dark day, and by refraining from doing so, those who insulted the martyrs and veterans were glorified. He emphasized that the law is still reaching those who were involved in using workers for the unrest.

Khawaja Asif asserted that the matter would not end until the law takes action against the planners of that horrific day. If the law does not intervene, he warned, such elements will continue to embolden enemies of the nation.
