In a statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that Kurram is burning, and questioned what the provincial and federal governments are doing. He criticized the provincial government for being unable to open a road to Parachinar and asked what else they could accomplish.
The Governor demanded the resignation of the provincial government over the situation in Kurram, stating that the government had no agenda other than its release from responsibilities.
Regarding the security situation in Kurram, a deadlock continues in the Grand Peace Jirga.
On the other hand, PTI ally and head of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Allama Nasir Abbas, also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He mentioned that he had told the founder of PTI to have the Chief Minister replace the Deputy Commissioner, but his request was ignored. He further stated that 150 people had already been killed in Kurram, and there is no presence of the federal government, provincial government, or security agencies in the area.
