The cold has intensified in the city of Lahore, and air pollution has also increased.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Lahore, the provincial capital, is expected to drop to 8°C, while the maximum may reach up to 19°C.

On the other hand, air pollution in the city has not decreased, with the average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 295.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that dry and cold weather will persist into next week, with rainfall expected in Lahore tomorrow. Due to the dry and cold conditions, seasonal illnesses are on the rise among residents. Precautionary advisories have been issued to help citizens protect themselves from such illnesses.

Additionally, dense fog in various parts of the country has led to the closure of several sections of motorways.

According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, the M-4 motorway from Khanewal to Abdul Hakeem and the M-5 motorway from Rahim Yar Khan to Ghotki have been closed for traffic.

Officials have stated that visibility on national highways is extremely low, causing difficulties for drivers.

The Motorway Police spokesperson has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and recommended drivers to use fog lights for safer journeys.
