New Delhi:Tensions continue to rise in the Indian state of Manipur due to deadly ethnic riots, with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) facing sharp criticism for its handling of the situation. The violence, fueled by discriminatory policies from the Modi government, has led to widespread unrest.

Opposition leaders have condemned the BJP for its silence on the Manipur riots, claiming that constitutional rights have been suspended in the region, yet no BJP members have raised the issue. They are calling for the resignation of BJP lawmakers from Manipur, accusing them of neglecting the situation.

Indian politician Sushmita Dev stated that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution have been stripped from the people of Manipur, and the BJP is promoting extremism and hate politics not only in Manipur but also in Assam.

Meanwhile, the judiciary in India is also under scrutiny, with claims that it is being influenced by Modi’s government. According to Indian media, special investigation teams have only filed charges in 6% of the 3,023 registered cases related to the Manipur violence.

In a further escalation of the crisis, armed unidentified individuals shot and killed two people in the region. The ongoing conflict in Manipur is deepening, and critics argue that the Modi government is exacerbating ethnic violence for political gain.
