Taylor Swift is reportedly keen to distance herself from Blake Lively’s ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, which has put a strain on their decade-long friendship.
The 35-year-old singer has denied any involvement as a producer on the film It Ends With Us, with sources stating she had “no creative involvement in the project.” However, some fans are accusing Taylor of being dishonest, pointing to resurfaced interviews from the film’s promotional tour that appear to contradict her statement.
In one interview, Justin Baldoni spoke about Taylor’s role in casting Isabela Ferrer, who plays young Lily Bloom. The interviewer asked, “You told me Taylor Swift helped her [Isabela] get the role, like signed off on her audition?” Baldoni responded, “I was casting and I showed her casting tape to Blake and Taylor, and they were both like yes, her. And that’s a true story.”
When asked how he got Taylor to lend her song to the movie, Baldoni said, “I had nothing to do with it; this is all Blake. Blake was involved in all aspects of this production, and she is also a marketing genius.”
In another interview, Isabela Ferrer was asked, “Taylor may have had some influence in getting you the role?” She replied, “Yes, she did. I don’t even know if I’m meant to be saying it, but I’m saying it. She was a helpful part of the process of the audition, which I found out later after I got it, and that rocks my world.”
During a separate Q&A, Lively, 37, confirmed Taylor’s involvement, saying, “Honestly, she was with me on this experience the whole time. She really lived this with me.”
A fan compiled these clips into a montage, writing, “Taylor Swift caught in a HUGE lie. She said she had no part in the casting of this actress for It Ends With Us. Ma’am, Justin Baldoni has the receipts.”
Reports suggest that Taylor and Blake’s friendship is struggling to recover from the fallout, with insiders claiming the Bad Blood singer has cut off communication with Lively. Previously, DailyMail.com reported that Swift had distanced herself from the Gossip Girl star, but sources now say their relationship has deteriorated even further. Allegedly, Taylor declined an invitation to the SNL 50th anniversary special because Lively was on the guest list.
An insider shared, “Taylor is not communicating with Blake. She was invited to SNL50, but with Blake there – and Kim Kardashian – it was the last place on earth she would be seen.”
