ISLAMABAD:( The COW News Digital)-On Sunday, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist across most parts of the country, says Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, in the afternoon, rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers is anticipated at several locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North-East Balochistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy rainfall is also forecast for some areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, North-East Punjab, and the Pothohar region.
Going region by region, PMD said that the weather in Islamabad and surrounding areas is expected to remain hot and humid. However, conditions are likely to change in the evening and night, with partly cloudy skies and a high chance of rain accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers. Heavy rain is also possible at certain locations.
In Punjab, the weather will remain hot and humid for most of the day. However, later in the day, rain, strong winds, and thundershowers are likely in various parts of the province, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, DG Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kot Addu, and Layyah. Heavy rain is expected in North-East Punjab, Pothohar, DG Khan, and surrounding areas.
Likewise, most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience hot and humid weather on Sunday. However, in the afternoon, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan. Heavy rain is also likely in some of these areas.
In Sindh, hot and humid conditions will continue throughout the day. However, in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and coastal areas, the weather will remain partly cloudy with a chance of rain in the evening and night hours.
Balochistan too will experience hot and humid weather. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected in Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Zhob, and surrounding areas in the afternoon.
Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day. Rain with strong winds and thundershowers is likely to occur in the evening and night, and Kashmir will be partly cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers expected later in the day. During this time, heavy rain is also expected at some places.
