Success earned, not given: Shraddha Kapoor hits back at nepotism

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has said that her success in the film industry was not handed to her, asserting that she earned every role through auditions rather than family influence.

According to a local media outlet, Kapoor highlighted that her father, veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, did not make any calls to secure roles for her.

Kapoor, the most followed Indian woman on Instagram with over 94 million followers, has recently solidified her reputation as a powerhouse performer with the massive success of Stree 2. The horror-comedy sequel, released last year, shattered box office records and became one of the highest-grossing films of 2024

One of India’s highest-paid actresses, Kapoor has been featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2014 and was included in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 list in 2016. She established herself as a leading actress with starring roles in Ek Villain, the dance drama ABCD 2, and the action-packed Baaghi. Despite facing setbacks with some poorly-received films, Kapoor bounced back with commercial hits such as the comedies Chhichhore and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, as well as the action thriller Saaho.
