Lahore( The COW News Digital) Stage actress Samar Rana has been arrested on charges of assault and alleged sexual abuse of her 14-year-old domestic worker, police confirmed on Monday.
According to police reports, a case was registered at Nawab Town Police Station following allegations that the young maid had been subjected to physical abuse and intimidation at Rana’s residence. Law enforcement authorities acted swiftly and detained the actress under relevant legal provisions.
Investigations revealed that the domestic worker was allegedly targeted by five unidentified individuals for sexual abuse while under the supervision of the household. In addition to these claims, Samar Rana is accused of physically assaulting and intimidating the minor.
Officials from the Investigation Police, Nawab Town disclosed that some of the incidents were recorded on video by the accused, suggesting premeditation and systematic abuse. Law enforcement is actively pursuing the unidentified suspects involved in the crime.
SP Investigation, Central Division, Mian Moazzam Ali stated that authorities are determined to ensure that justice is served for the minor and her family. “All efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining culprits. We are committed to safeguarding the victim’s rights and ensuring that they receive full justice,” he said.
The arrest has triggered strong public reactions and reignited debates about the protection of child domestic workers in Pakistan.
