LAHORE ( The COW News Digital) A social media friendship that blossomed into love has taken a shocking turn for a woman in Lahore’s Model Town area. Two years after marrying her online friend, she discovered that her husband had allegedly stolen 80 tolas of gold jewelry from their home.

The woman, whose husband is identified as Faisal Javed, had initially met him on social media. Their friendship quickly evolved into a romantic relationship, culminating in marriage two years ago. The couple began their marital life smoothly, with no apparent disputes or warning signs.

The shocking incident occurred when the woman visited her sister’s residence for a few days. Upon returning home, she was stunned to find that approximately 80 tolas of gold jewelry, valued at around 3 crore Pakistani rupees, had gone missing. Strikingly, there were no signs of forced entry or any damage, indicating that the theft may have been committed by someone with access to the home.

Disturbed by the loss, the woman immediately filed a complaint at the Model Town police station. Police, noting the unusual circumstances and lack of external intrusion, expanded their investigation to include family members. This led to the interrogation of her husband, Faisal Javed.

Following a rigorous three-hour questioning, Faisal Javed reportedly confessed to the theft. He admitted that he had stolen the gold while his wife was away and had hidden it within the house. Authorities promptly recovered all the stolen jewelry based on the suspect’s directions.

The police have initiated formal legal proceedings against Faisal Javed. The case highlights the vulnerabilities that can arise when trust is breached in domestic relationships, especially when financial or valuable possessions are involved.

This incident also sheds light on the potential risks of online relationships. While social media can facilitate meaningful connections, it can also lead to situations where trust is exploited, resulting in financial and emotional harm.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain vigilant, especially when significant valuables are kept at home. Ensuring security measures, such as safes or secure storage, and conducting regular checks can prevent similar incidents.

The case has sparked discussions online, with many expressing sympathy for the victim and emphasizing the importance of trust and transparency in marital relationships. Meanwhile, police continue to monitor the situation to ensure all stolen items have been recovered and justice is served.
