Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has called upon the provincial government to announce relief for residents on electricity bills, similar to the measures taken in Punjab. He emphasized that failure to do so could worsen feelings of neglect among the people of Sindh during this economic downturn.

During a press conference at the Governor House, Tessori announced his intention to write a letter to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, requesting a Rs14 per unit reduction in electricity bills, mirroring the relief provided by Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. He praised Maryam Nawaz’s efforts in alleviating the burden on her constituents.

Tessori warned that if the provincial government doesn’t take action, it could lead to increased feelings of deprivation in Sindh. He urged the authorities to respond promptly to the challenges posed by heavy rains and appealed to non-government organizations and philanthropists to support their communities.

The governor also announced the dispatch of 10,000 ration bags to rain-affected areas in Sukkur and confirmed the establishment of an emergency cell to monitor the situation. He encouraged those in distress to contact the helpline at 1366 for immediate assistance.
