Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has come under criticism for referring to a Karachi boy as “talented” after he allegedly lured an American woman, Oneja Andrew Robinson, to Pakistan under the pretense of love.
A viral video on social media shows Governor Tessori discussing the incident, where he jokingly acknowledges public curiosity about the boy’s identity. During the conversation, he refers to the boy as “talented,” sparking controversy.
“Everyone is asking to see the boy who brought the American woman to Pakistan. Where is he? Show his face,” Tessori remarked while speaking to reporters.
In response to a journalist’s question, he quipped, “Should we grant Pakistani citizenship to the American woman, or should we give her the boy instead?”
He went on to comment that he saw widespread interest on social media regarding the boy, with people eager to know who he is.
Further in the video, Tessori seemingly applauds the boy’s actions, saying, “People struggle to get an American passport, but this boy managed to bring an American woman here with her passport.”
He added humorously, “Our boy not only brought the American woman here but also had her sitting on a footpath.”
Tessori’s remarks have drawn backlash, with critics calling them inappropriate and trivializing the situation.
