Karachi: In a significant move to enhance wheat production in Sindh, Syngenta Pakistan has announced a plan to distribute free agricultural products to 15,000 farmers across the province.
In collaboration with the Sindh government, Syngenta Pakistan will provide advanced herbicides to help farmers maximize their wheat yield. The initiative aims to distribute agricultural products covering 45,000 acres, ensuring increased wheat production.
Syngenta Pakistan’s General Manager, Zeeshan Haseeb Baig, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring food security in Pakistan. “We are determined to empower farmers during the upcoming wheat season in partnership with the Sindh government. This collaboration aims to ensure better profitability for farmers and boost wheat production,” he stated.
The herbicide offered is a modern solution designed to eliminate weeds in a single application, significantly improving crop yield. By mitigating losses caused by weed infestations, this initiative contributes to Pakistan’s journey toward self-sufficiency in food production.
Munir Ahmed Jummani, Director General of Sindh’s Agricultural Extension Department, lauded the initiative, highlighting Sindh’s potential for wheat cultivation. He added, “This is a commendable effort by Syngenta Pakistan to support wheat farmers through the free distribution of herbicides. Our Agricultural Extension Department will provide every possible assistance to ensure the success of this program and maximize wheat production in the province.”
