The Sindh Education Department has taken concrete steps to implement the 10% freeship law, mandating private educational institutions to provide free education to 10% of their students. To ensure compliance, four special teams have been formed to inspect private schools and collect relevant data.
According to the details, the new academic year will see the strict implementation of the freeship law, with the education department leaving no stone unturned to ensure that private schools adhere to the regulations. Non-compliance will result in the suspension or cancellation of registration of private schools.
The Directorate of Private Institutions has issued a directive to all private schools in Sindh, instructing them to follow the 10% freeship formula from August 1. Regional Directors in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana, and Shaheed Benazirabad have also been notified to ensure implementation of the Sindh Rights of Children in Free and Compulsory Education Act 2013. Private schools are required to provide complete data on the number of children enrolled.
This move by the Sindh Education Department aims to provide free education to deserving students and promote inclusive learning. The department’s efforts to monitor and enforce the freeship law demonstrate their commitment to ensuring equal access to education for all.
