According to nomination papers submitted ahead of the 2024 elections, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s declared assets within Pakistan amount to Rs 14 million, while his overseas assets are valued at Rs 54 million.
As per a report by The News journalist Qasim Abbasi, data available on the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) website shows that ahead of the 2018 elections, Shehbaz Sharif’s foreign assets were worth Rs 146 million, whereas his domestic assets stood at Rs 205 million.
The report also highlights that by 2024, President Asif Ali Zardari’s total assets were worth Rs 2 billion, with no holdings abroad. In contrast, his 2018 asset declaration showed a total worth of Rs 654 million, which included Rs 99 million in foreign assets.
FAFEN data further reveals that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif owns Rs 79 million in foreign assets, while his domestic assets are valued at Rs 74 million.
Ahead of the 2024 elections, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared total assets worth Rs 1.9 billion, out of which Rs 1.7 billion are held abroad.
Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz holds Rs 800 million in assets within Pakistan, whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur declared domestic assets worth Rs 96 million. Neither leader has any assets abroad.
