PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai has stated that the delay in launching the civil disobedience movement is a result of the party’s own actions.
In a recent statement, Yousafzai explained that the movement would have already started had a negotiation committee not been formed. He revealed that PTI’s leadership had urged the party founder to give one more opportunity for dialogue with the government before making a major decision.
“We hoped the government would respond positively, but unfortunately, their approach has been childish,” Yousafzai said.
He further remarked that the government may believe PTI has weakened, which is why they are talking about negotiations. However, he clarified that this perception is far from the truth.
Yousafzai added that due to ongoing negotiations, the date for launching the civil disobedience movement had not been finalized. If talks fail, he anticipates an announcement of a new course of action from PTI’s founder.
He concluded by stating that if Pakistan faces any negative consequences from future actions, the government will be fully responsible.
