Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shahram Tarakai has slammed the federal government, stating that Pakistan’s governance is a source of international ridicule. He reiterated that the controversial cipher was part of a conspiracy and called for justice from Pakistan’s courts.

Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court, Tarakai expressed his disappointment over the state of the rule of law in the country. “It is unfortunate that law and the Constitution seem nonexistent. Terrorism charges are being imposed on elected representatives, but our resolve remains unshaken. We will continue our struggle for the supremacy of the Constitution and the law,” he said.

He added that the formation of a negotiation committee is a positive step, but its seriousness will be judged by its outcomes. “The public is watching this committee closely. We demand justice from Pakistan’s courts. The cipher incident was a conspiracy, and we condemn it,” Tarakai emphasized.

Welcoming countries advocating for human rights, he said, “Whether it’s the United States or any nation advocating for human rights, we appreciate their stance.” He urged the judiciary to take suo moto action on all pressing issues and called for institutions to operate within their constitutional boundaries.
