Former PM Criticizes Government and Opposition, Says No One is Concerned About the Public

Sukkur:
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has stated that no province has the right to take another province’s water. He expressed concerns about the ongoing issues surrounding water distribution in Sindh during a media interaction.

Abbasi, who leads the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), stated, “The people of Sindh are worried about the issue of six canals. No province can take water from another province.” He emphasized that discussions between the government and opposition should be confined to parliament.

He further remarked that neither the government nor the opposition seems to care about the public or the country. “Today, every Pakistani is distressed, and if there is division in the country, foreign intervention will follow. The rulers only see their own interests,” he added.

Abbasi also addressed the importance of justice in the system, stating, “Where there is no justice, the system cannot function. I left power not for personal gain, and I have no grievances with the PML-N. When PML-N prioritized ‘Respect for Institutions,’ I chose to part ways.”

The former Prime Minister criticized the current government, stating, “Three parties are in power, and all have their manifestos, but no one is delivering. We are not discussing issues, but solutions. Despite having the opportunity, they have done nothing.”

Abbasi also commented on the political landscape, saying, “The founder of PTI is being ‘trained’ in jail, and every politician goes there for good training.”
