Due to a severe cold wave in the United States, the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump will now be held indoors. The event, originally planned for the outdoor area, will take place at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C., where only select guests will be allowed entry.
Reports indicate that the last time an indoor inauguration was held was in 1985, when President Ronald Reagan took the oath of office due to extreme cold weather. Following the ceremony, Donald Trump will address his supporters at the Capital One Arena.
According to U.S. media, the temperature on January 20 is expected to be 18°F, with wind chills making it feel like 11°F.
Invitations to the inauguration have been extended to former U.S. presidents, government and state officials, business leaders, and other prominent figures.
