The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 for 3 days in the whole of Punjab, including Lahore, under which there will be a ban on public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, and protests in the province. The ban will be applicable from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28, as announced by the spokesman of the Punjab Interior Department.
The implementation of Section 144 aims to maintain law and order, protect human lives and property, and is a result of the threat of terrorism. The decision comes in the wake of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s call for a peaceful protest across the country on Friday, July 26.
The authorities have warned that any violations of the ban will be met with strict action. The capital administration has deployed the Islamabad police force to ensure compliance with the restrictions.
This move by the Punjab government is seen as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential unrest or violence during the protests. The imposition of Section 144 will help maintain peace and stability in the province.
Citizens are advised to cooperate with the authorities and refrain from participating in any public gatherings or protests during the specified period.
