Saudi Arabia has announced the establishment of a ground aid corridor to Syria, complementing its ongoing air relief operations conducted by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief). The initiative aims to deliver critical assistance, including heavy medical equipment that cannot be transported by air.

According to KSRelief spokesperson Samer Al-Jutaili, the ground corridor will transport essential items such as MRI machines, X-ray units, and CT scanners from Jordan to Damascus. Al-Jutaili explained, “This ground aid corridor will enable the delivery of substantial quantities of food, health supplies, and shelter materials to Damascus and other affected areas.”

He emphasized that the operation is a collaborative effort involving Syrian authorities and United Nations agencies to ensure effective distribution on the ground.

The announcement comes as Saudi Arabia’s fourth relief plane recently landed in Syria, carrying urgent humanitarian supplies. The addition of a ground aid corridor aims to expand the scope and scale of the Kingdom’s relief efforts, providing critical support to Syrian communities in need.
