Saudi Arabia has executed six Iranian nationals for their involvement in drug smuggling. According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Interior, the executions took place in the city of Dammam.
The Ministry confirmed that the individuals were sentenced to death by a competent court, with the Supreme Court upholding the verdict before the execution was carried out.
Reports indicate that this marks part of a broader trend in the kingdom, as over 300 individuals have been executed in Saudi Arabia this year alone. In 2024, more than 330 people were executed, including over 100 foreigners.
Of those executed, more than 150 individuals were put to death for non-lethal crimes, with a significant number convicted of drug trafficking offenses.
