The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has released a health advisory for Hajj 2025, outlining strict health requirements for pilgrims. The advisory bans individuals with complex health conditions, pregnant women, and children under 12 years of age from performing Hajj.
Pilgrims with complications related to kidney, heart, lung, liver, or cancer, as well as those with dementia or infectious diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) and whooping cough, will not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage. The decision comes in response to severe weather conditions expected during the Hajj season.
All pilgrims will be required to receive vaccinations for meningitis, COVID-19, seasonal influenza, and polio before embarking on the pilgrimage. The advisory aims to ensure the health and safety of pilgrims during Hajj 2025.
