The latest ICC Test rankings have seen a rise for Pakistan’s middle-order batter Saud Shakeel and a drop for captain Babar Azam. According to the International Cricket Council’s updated rankings, Saud Shakeel moved up three places to achieve a career-best sixth position following his 84-run performance in the second innings of the Test against South Africa in Centurion.
Meanwhile, star batter Babar Azam dropped two places and now holds the 17th position.
In the Test batters’ rankings, England’s Joe Root continues to hold the top spot, followed by his teammate Harry Brook in second place, and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson in third. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal moved up one place to fourth, while Australia’s Travis Head dropped from fourth to fifth.
In the bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali dropped one spot to ninth, and Shaheen Afridi also saw a decline, now ranked 18th. India’s Jasprit Bumrah remains in the number one position.
In the Test all-rounders’ rankings, India’s Ravindra Jadeja remains in the top spot, while Australia’s Pat Cummins rose four places to claim third position.
