Mumbai (News Desk): Former Bollywood actress and model Sangeeta Bijlani has finally confirmed that she was once set to marry Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. In a recent interview, Sangeeta revealed that she and Salman met on the set of a TV commercial and were in a relationship for nearly a decade.
After years of dating, the couple had decided to get married, and a wedding date had even been set. However, shortly after the wedding invitations were printed, Salman Khan backed out at the last moment, leaving the actress heartbroken.
Sangeeta recently appeared as a guest on Indian Idol, where she was asked what changes she would like to make in her life. She shared that, during her relationship, her former boyfriend (referring to Salman) had restrictions on her dressing, saying she couldn’t wear revealing clothes or show too much of her neck. She mentioned that, while initially complying, she eventually became more independent, embracing her freedom to wear whatever she desired.
When asked about the rumors regarding their wedding invitations being printed, Sangeeta confirmed the truth but added, “Don’t ask me more about it.” Laughing, she joked, “Don’t strike me with lightning, because my name is Bijli (electricity).”
In a previous appearance on the Koffee with Karan show, Salman Khan had also mentioned his past relationship with Sangeeta and their near-marriage.
