Lahore(TheCOWNews Digital)Former Pakistani actress and now a social media influencer, Sanam Chaudhry, has hinted at a possible return to the television drama industry—under specific spiritual and ethical conditions.
Sanam, who left showbiz after embarking on a religious journey, shared her thoughts in a recent Instagram Q&A session with fans. Responding to a question about whether she would consider returning to the drama industry while observing the hijab, Sanam replied, “I can return if the project brings people closer to Allah and I am allowed to work fully within my limits, including wearing hijab.”
This revelation has sparked a buzz among fans and media circles, as Sanam was once a rising star known for her versatile performances in popular dramas such as Ghar Titli Ka Par, Shiza, Aasman Pe Likha, Mera Abroo, and Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai. Her roles were widely appreciated, and she was regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Pakistani television industry.
However, Sanam made the decision to step away from her flourishing acting career after marrying Pakistani-American hip-hop artist Somi Chohan and undergoing a spiritual transformation. Since then, she has been using her platform—where she has over 2.6 million followers—to promote Islamic teachings, share Quranic messages, and engage with followers on matters of faith and purpose.
Her decision to leave the industry was initially met with mixed reactions, but Sanam consistently explained that she was pursuing a life aligned with her values. In past interviews and posts, she shared, “I didn’t realize I had to prepare for death too. That changed everything.”
Now, with her recent remarks, fans are speculating whether a new era of faith-inspired dramas could emerge in Pakistani media. Many praised her openness, suggesting it could pave the way for more inclusive and spiritually uplifting content in entertainment.
Industry insiders believe that if her conditions are met, Sanam’s return could bridge a unique gap between modern media and traditional values, appealing to a broader audience segment seeking meaningful narratives.
No official project has been announced yet, but the actress’s statement has certainly stirred conversations about the evolving role of spirituality in the entertainment industry.
