Pakistan’s aggressive opener, Saime Ayub, has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award.
Ayub, who showcased aggressive batting during Pakistan’s tours of Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, has impressed with his performances in just 9 One Day International (ODI) matches. In this short span, he scored 3 centuries and one half-century, amassing a total of 515 runs.
In addition to Ayub, England’s Gus Atkinson, Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis, and West Indies’ Shamarh Brooks have also been nominated for the award.
Gus Atkinson took 52 wickets in 11 matches, Kamindu Mendis scored 1,451 runs in 32 matches, and Shamarh Brooks claimed 29 wickets in 8 Test matches.
The awards for the best performers in various categories of 2024 will be announced at the end of January. Nominations will continue until December 30, and the winners will be honored in 12 categories at the ICC Awards.
